One person has died in a crash in Northland today.
Police say they were called to State Highway 1 in Horeke, near Rangiahua Road, at 9.20am.
One car was involved in the crash, and one person died at the scene.
One other person in the car was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
Police said enquiries into the crash are ongoing.
There have been several fatal crashes in the past few days. The Christmas holiday road toll does not officially start until Christmas Eve.
