Fiji's police force says it is concerned about an increase of violent crime throughout the country.
The FBC News reported the Police Chief of Operations Rusiate Tudravu as saying serious crimes such as aggravated assault, violent crime, robbery, rape and murder are on the rise.
He said police were working to discover the cause of the increase.
He said the police couldn't work in isolation and called on faith based organisations, NGO's and governmental organisations to work together with the community on the problem.
