The Breakers are on the verge of signing David Stockton, the son of NBA basketball hall of famer John Stockton, to replace injured point guard Ben Woodside.
Website Eurobasket is reporting the 25-year-old American is close to agreeing terms to play for the Auckland-based team in the Australian NBL.
Stockton, who has played for the Sacramento Kings and the Washington Wizards in the NBA, has been playing for Zagreb in Croatia.
Stockton's father, John, had a 19-year career with the Utah Jazz.
Woodside is out for two months after suffering a serious foot injury in the Breakers win over Melbourne last week.
