The Northern Marianas government is reminding businesses that the price freeze brought in after Super Typhoon Yutu remains in effect
Prices for items, including fuel, food, clothing and bedding, were frozen a couple of days after Yutu struck Saipan and Tinian last October.
Under the Consumer Disaster Price Freeze Act, it is illegal for any person or business to raise the price of items for sale or rent on housing.
Those found breaking the law face a fine of up to $US10,000 and up to one year in jail for each violation.
