Kiribati has received firefighting training and equipment over the past fortnight from Australia.
The South Australian Country Fire Service has been on Tarawa providing the Kiribati Police Service with training and two fire trucks.
The programme began in 2018, when two other fire engines were donated.
One of the four trucks is to be transferred to Kiritimati Island.
The programme is funded through the Pacific Islands Emergency Management Alliance - a regional co-operative project between Australia and New Zealand's foreign offices - and managed by the Pacific Community in Fiji.
