A 63-year-old man is due to appear in court today, charged with the murder of a woman in west Auckland.

Police were called to an assault on Westgate Drive in Massey just before 8.30am yesterday morning.
The woman died at the scene.
Police have confirmed the man who has been charged was known to the woman.
He's to appear in the Waitakere District Court today.
Police have thanked the people who rushed to help the victim, and said witnesses are being provided with support.
Detectives still want to hear from anyone who saw the attack.
A postmortem will also take place today.
