The European Union says it's looking at ways to resolve the debt owed over unpaid fees for Solomon Islands students at the University of the South Pacific.
The USP says none of its Solomon Islands students will graduate this year while their fees remain unpaid and has given the Honiara government an ultimatum to pay the debt by the end of the year.
The Head of PNG's EU delegation, Anthony Crasner, says they're ascertaining which Solomon Islands students are in good economic standing and qualify for graduation.
Mr Crasner says he's also talking to EU management in Brussels to make available enough money to cover the total arrears...
"the amount of money that we had easily available which was another seven hundred and fifty thousand euros, that is the money we've got immobilised already, would cover about 20% of the total cost... anticipating something in the region between four and four point five, million euros."
