Prime Minister John Key says the Royal Commission's report into the Pike River mine tragedy will be released next week.
The report will be delivered to the Governor-General, Lieutenant-General Sir Jerry Mateparae, on Tuesday and will then be given to Attorney-General Christopher Finlayson for consideration.
Mr Key says the Government intends to release the report and the Government's response to it early next week.
It will be released to the families of the miners who died first, before it is made public, he says.
Twenty-nine men were killed in explosions at the West Coast mine that began on 19 November 2010.
