A leading Methodist minister who was released after being interrogated for two days in Fiji says he is still under investigation.

Former Methodist Church President, Reverend Manasa Lasaro, was released from police custody on Saturday.

He says he was detained over a proposal for the church to discuss freedom, democracy and the legitimacy of the current military-led government.

Reverend Lasaro says there are no guarantees that the church's annual conference which draws about 1,000 people each August, will go ahead this year.
