An 18-year-old accused of stabbing a Christchurch dog-walker has been granted bail this morning.

Nigel Wilson, 62, was found badly injured at Bexley Reserve in November 2022, and died a week later from his injuries in hospital.

Bailey Messervy has been charged with his murder and has previously pleaded not guilty.

On Tuesday, Messervy appeared in the Christchurch High Court, where Justice Dunningham granted electronically monitored bail with strict conditions.

Two women charged with accessory to murder after the fact are due to appear again next month.
