Teachers in French Polynesia are to go on strike today as part of a France-wide protest action against education reforms and cuts.
Radio reports say members of one teacher union will rally outside the French High Commission in Tahiti.
The action is against a new job evaluation system and to push for a withdrawal of the planned elimination of 14'000 jobs at the end of this school year.
The protest is to go ahead in 101 departments and overseas territories.
