The Automobile Association says its Auckland members are unconvinced about the benefits of new charges such as road tolls or congestion charges.
An independent panel will next week release a detailed proposal of new charges that would help pay for billions of dollars' worth of Auckland transport projects.
An AA spokesperson, Barney Irvine, said while an initial survey of Auckland members found support in principle, a new questionnaire shows support for tolls, but little understanding of how members would be better off.
