Russia is giving Vanuatu US$500 thousand dollars to aid the recovery from Cyclone Pam which devastated much of the country six months ago.
The aid deal has been concluded at the United Nations by Vanuatu's Ambassador, Odo Tevi, and Russia's deputy Permanent Representative, Sergey Konounchenko.
Mr Tevi says the most important requirement now is to restore the economy and rebuild infrastructure.
The cyclone caused mass destruction, killing at least 11 people and leaving thousands homeless.
