A person has been airlifted to Wellington Hospital in a serious condition after a small explosion in Ohau, near Levin.

Emergency services were called to the area just after 8am this morning.
Fire and Emergency say they cannot confirm the nature of the explosion, but were called to put out a fire that had been extinguished by the time they arrived.
