A petition in Wallis and Futuna has collected close to 1000 signatures in a week to call for a better service by the only international airline flying to the territory.
New Caledonia's Aircalin links Wallis with Noumea and Nadi.
The territory's public broadcaster quoted a travellers' spokesperson as saying people were unhappy about the low number of flights as well as baggage and freight charges.
The report said people wanted to know why high season return fare for a Wallis to Noumea flight is $US1400.
Migration over the years has seen a huge number of Wallisians settle in more prosperous New Caledonia.
