NZ First's man of mystery

16:02 pm on 22 September 2014

New Zealand First’s lowest-ranked MP is refusing to say what he does for a living, the New Zealand Herald reports.

Mahesh Bindra is chairman of the Corrections Association of New Zealand, which suggests he’s a prison officer, but he won’t confirm that, only going as far as saying he works in “law and order”.

"I haven't received formal confirmation. Technically, I haven't resigned yet."

Bindra is expected to come into Parliament at 11 on the NZ First party list. He won 607 votes as a candidate in the Mt Roskill seat.
