RNZ is set to celebrate Matariki on 24 June with a broad range of programming across radio and digital services and the official Mānawatia a Matariki celebrations streaming live on rnz.co.nz.
RNZ's Tumu Māori Shannon Haunui-Thompson says that the Matariki programming will be vibrant and exciting and a wonderful way for the people of Aotearoa to learn about and engage with Matariki.
"This programming is a fitting way to honour one of the most important days in te ao Māori and the first Matariki public holiday - a day of reflection, celebration and looking to the future," she said.
