The Ferns take on a winless West Indies in Taunton tonight.

Perkins said they will not be underestimating their opposition.

"For the West Indies it's sometimes unsure what team's going to turn up on the day.

"Now that they've had these three losses in a row they're potentially even more dangerous than ever because they'll come out with nothing to lose.

"They've got absolute match winners in their side and we just have to go out and play our best cricket regardless of how they've been performing," Perkins said.

The White Ferns currently sit in fifth position after a win over Sri Lanka, a washed out game against South Africa, and a loss to Australia.

Perkins said their fate to secure a semi final birth is now in their own hands.

"I think from the very start it's always going to be a very competitive tournament.

"Destiny's still in our hands, if we win all our games from here then there shouldn't be an issue of making the top four," Perkins said.

The White Ferns match against the West Indies will commence tonight at 9:30pm NZT.
