Police arrest two men over road rage shooting that left teenage girl injured

Police have arrested two people over a road rage incident in Auckland on Tuesday in which a teenage girl was shot.

Detectives arrested two men, aged 25 and 26, overnight. They have been jointly charged with wounding with reckless disregard and injuring with reckless disregard.

The 25-year-old man has also been charged with unlawful possession of ammunition, police said.

They were due to appear in the Auckland District Court on Friday.

Police said they were continuing to make enquiries and could not rule out further arrests or charges.

"The victim's family have been informed of the progress in the investigation and we are continuing to ensure there is support available as they recover from their ordeal," Detective Senior Sergeant Martin Friend said.
