TradeMe says the job market is going from strength to strength, with employment vacancy listings up 17% in the final quarter of 2013 compared to the same period last year.
The company said the number of job ads was higher through the entire country with an increase of almost 20% in some regions.
TradeMe head of jobs Peter Osborne said the company noted a "patchwork market" during the first half of last year, with notable growth only in Auckland, Waikato and Canterbury.
"In the second half, growth increased, and definitely that's the result of increased business confidence because people don't advertise for roles unless they think their business is going to grow."
The company said many employers a predicting a healthy job market for the year ahead.
