A police chase north of Christchurch this morning has been brought to an end by roadworks.
Police started their pursuit when the car would not pull over for driving related offences.
The fleeing driver was followed through back roads around Rangiora until he reached State Highway One at Woodend.
Police said the slow-moving chase came to an end when the driver was halted by roadworks at a new roundabout near the town of Pegasus.
