Twenty four Mongrel Mob gang members arrested following a shooting incident and brawl in Wairoa, Hawke's Bay, this week, will face more serious charges.

Police say three more firearms, including a pistol and two shotguns, have now been found at the gang's headquarters, taking to eight the number of firearms seized.

The gang members, who are now charged only with unlawful assembly, have been remanded in custody until Monday when they will appear again in the Gisborne District Court.

Police say they will face firearms charges and charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
