Vodafone signals job losses

22:08 pm on 29 October 2014

Telecommunications company Vodafone has signalled job cuts in New Zealand but will not say how many workers might be affected and had denied reports that 700 management positions are to go.

Head of external communications Craig Jones said in a statement today that the company would be reducing a significant number of contractors and would not be filling a number of currently vacant positions.

Mr Jones said consultations were under way which would result in redundancies, and Vodafone would not comment further until its plans were finalised.
