Tasman crash: Two dead, others injured

Two people have died as the result of a three-vehicle crash on Tasman's Coastal Highway.

Police said two people died at the scene and two others with serious injuries were transported to Nelson Hospital by rescue helicopter, about 11am today. Another two people, also said to be in a serious condition, were taken to hospital by ambulance.

The crash happened on State Highway 60, in Redwood Valley between Richmond and Mapua.

The road remained closed for some time but has reopened.
