Tonga's Acting Police Commander, Taniela Faletau, has confirmed that Lepolo Taunisila, the Niua People's Representative who was arrested on January 24th and released on bail on the 26th has been charged with two counts of sedition and unlawful assembly.
He also confirmed that Isileli Pulu, the Tongatapu no. 2 People's Representative to the Tongan Legislature will appear in the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court today to review his application for bail.
'Isileli was denied bail on January 23rd by the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court, and has remained in police custody for nearly three weeks after being arrested on January 10th and charged with sedition and abetting willful damage.
