A Ngati Porou butcher is heading to Iceland to work.
Huka Takurua is travelling with a contingent of Maori butchers from Bernard Matthews meat processing plant in Gisborne to work there.
Despite the climate, he says the people of Iceland have many similarities with Maori - there are many cultures there and it's a home away from home.
Waatea News reports a total of 43 butchers from New Zealand are going to work in Iceland at one of nine meat processing factories.
