Detective Senior Sergeant Terri Wilson said the arrest of the 47-year-old man unfolded without any issues and was in response to an incident in Raglan's Manu Bay, on New Year's Day.
The man is scheduled to appear in Hamilton District Court on Wednesday on firearm-related charges.
