Miller up for third medal today

07:38 am on 22 February 2010

The American skier Bode Miller has his sights on his third medal of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics today when the rescheduled super-combined event gets under way.

Miller came back empty-handed from Turin four years ago and only returned to top form this year after turning his back on the US team in 2009.

But he has already gained a bronze medal in the downhill in Whistler and silver in Saturday's Super-G.

Miller and Super-G gold medallist Aksel Lund Svindal of Norway took the day off yesterday, while Didier Defago of Switzerland, who won the downhill, was fastest in training.

Defending combined champion Ted Ligerty of the United States was 16th.
