Virgin Samoa considers Apia-LA air route abandoned by Air NZ

Virgin Samoa, formerly Polynesian Blue, is considering the Apia-Los Angeles air route abandoned by Air New Zealand earlier this year.

The once-a-week L.A flight was discontinued when Air New Zealand pulled out of a subsidised arrangement involving both the Samoan and New Zealand governments.

Acting Samoa Prime Minister Tolofuaivalelei Falemoe Leiataua says the loss of the flights was a major blow to Samoa's efforts to capitalise on the lucrative North American and European tourism markets.
