Police say there was an increase in people breaking Alert Level 3 rules over the weekend, compared with weekends over the Level 4 lockdown period.
112 people were charged by police or given warnings for breaching Alert Level 3 rules in the 24-hour period between 6pm Friday night and Saturday night.
There were almost 700 reports of breaches to police during that period.
