Anagenix sells kiwifruit and berry-based supplement ingredients to distributors in the US, Canada, Australia, Asia and Europe.

Managing director Chris Johnson said the nutraceutical industry had been largely immune to any negative impacts from Covid-19 and business was continuing to grow.

He says demand in the US was particularly strong and its exports there were valued in the millions of dollars.

"The US is the biggest market for health supplements in the world and it has been for many, many years, they are very used to taking health supplements improve their quality of life and that's not slowing down... for Anagenix we would have 100 percent growth over the last year, to date," Chris Johnson said.

Johnson said it had recently purchased a Avondale-based nutritional product manufacturing facility, which would enable it to triple its fruit drying and ingredient processing capacity over the next two to three years.

"Our growth is such that Anagenix is now backwards integrating so that we can better manage all stages in our manufacturing supply chain, thus enhancing our products' consistency and quality."
