The Adelaide 36ers have continued the New Zealand Breakers' poor start to their quest for a fourth straight Australian basketball title with a last-gasp 95-94 win at Auckland's Vector Arena.
American point guard Gary Ervin scored the winning basket just before the full-time buzzer to sink the Breakers, consolidating the 36ers' second place behind Perth and taking the Breakers to an unwelcome two-win, six-loss record.
Ervin top-scored with 26 points while Breakers swingman Tom Abercrombie scored 21 for the home side. Adelaide led 50-46 at half-time.
Elsewhere the Sydney Kings gave departing import Jesse Sanders a successful send-off with a crushing 88-67 home win over the Townsville Crocodiles.
Point guard Sanders will make way for NBA-experienced swingman Sam Young.
