One person has died after a serious crash at Windwhistle in Selwyn.
The crash, at the intersection of Rakaia Gorge Road (State Highway 77) and Leaches Road, took place about 1.30pm.
One driver has minor injuries, the other died at the scene.
The road was expected to be closed for several hours and people should expect diversions.
The Serious Crash Unit and Commercial Vehicle Safety Team were investigating.
