The Corrections Department says it has established the new form of communication since visiting hours were reduced due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Head of Corrections Francis Kean says maintaining contact is an important ingredient in the department's rehabilitation process.
Kean said the United Nations Development Programme the offices of the Chief Justice, Registrar and Magistrate all helped put the system in place.
He also thanked the International Committee of the Red Cross for providing the personal protective equipment.
