There have been three new cases and three historical cases of Covid-19 reported in New Zealand's managed isolation facilities today, with no new cases in the community.
In a statement, the Ministry of Health said the person who was moved to a managed isolation facility in Christchurch yesterday after being identified by Australian health authorities as a contact of one of two Covid-19 cases in Sydney, had tested negative for the coronavirus.
The Ministry said the public health assessment was that the risk to New Zealand from New South Wales was still "low". It said 5477 people who have arrived in New Zealand from NSW since last Friday have been contacted by health authorities and provided with advice.
The New Zealand government paused quarantine-free travel with the state until midnight tonight, pending more information after a Sydney man in his fifties and his wife tested positive for Covid-19 in the community.
There was one new case reported in managed isolation in New Zealand yesterday.
The number of active cases in New Zealand today is 25 and the total number of confirmed cases is 2284.
The Ministry said all three historical cases reported today arrived in a travel bubble together on 5 May, and travelled from the Philippines, via Singapore.
The other three new imported cases came from Guatemala, Maldives and France.
The Ministry also said it had been informed by Vodafone of a nationwide outage which was affecting the digital services at some Covid-19 vaccination centres around the country.
"This means people queueing are having to fill out forms manually which is adding some time to the process.
"We wish to thank those currently at the vaccination centre for their patience as Vodafone works through this issue."
