Auckland Blues winger AJ Lam has signed with French rugby club ASM Clermont Auvergne.
Lam, who has Samoan heritage, will see out the 2026 Super Rugby season with the Blues before his departure.
The signing was confirmed on the ASM Clermont Auvergne website.
The announcement featured a casual Facetime conversation of Lam sharing the news with former Blues and high school team-mate Harry Plumber who is currently playing for Clermont.
Lam has signed a three-year contract with the French club.
In a statement released by the Blues camp, Lam stated that while he is excited for the new chapter, his focus remains firmly on the Blues this season.
Lam played 58 games for the Blues since joining the club in 2021.
"This club has shaped me. The Blues have been my home and I'm proud of what we've achieved," he said.
ASM Clermont is ranked 8th in the French Top 14.
