The New Zealand golfer Danny Lee has surged into contention at the PGA Tour's latest Fed Ex Cup playoff event in Massachusetts.

Lee carded a second round five under par 66 to move to six under for the tournament and climb to a tie for 10th, six shots behind the leader, the American Charley Hoffman.
Lee started the day in a tie for 26th after his first round one under 70.
