The new owners of the Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino in the Northern Marianas have reached an agreement with the US Government and will avoid a criminal prosecution.
The US Government had brought 158 charges against the previous owners and fined them 75 million US dollars for violating the Bank Secrecy Act.
The new company has avoided having to make that payment but will pay $US3.03 million dollars in exchange for the non-prosecution.
The non-prosecution agreement also obligates the casino operator to cooperate with the U.S. in ongoing criminal investigations and to comply with federal reporting and other regulatory requirements.
