World No 1 Paul Coll won his way into the men's quarterfinals with an 11-5, 11-0, 11-6 victory over Egypt's Mazen Hesham in 38 minutes on the outdoor court where he dominated the match.

Coll's march to victory was halted briefly in the third game while he got a cut on his knee seen to by the physio, but the 2019-20 PSA World Championship runner-up soon closed out the win in straight games to set up a quarter final fixture against either Tarek Momen - who won that World Championship final - or Welshman Joel Makin.

"I'm very happy to get off in three," said Coll.

"Mazen can make you do an unbelievable amount of work and some big lunges, and it can be really damaging on your body. But I managed to close it down today, I felt like I was seeing it better and it's nice to get on this court, it's a very true court and very nice to play on, so I'm happy with tonight's performance.

In the earlier match women's world No 5 Joelle King was beaten in the third round encounter by 15th ranked Egyptian Nada Abbas 7-11, 13-15, 11-8, 6-11 in 58 minutes.

King suffered an injury in the early stages of the match but battle back before the younger player buoyed on by a home crowd came through.

The high-profile trio have won a combined 22 major championships between them.

It will mark the first start for Woods since his highly-anticipated return to competition at last month's Masters where he opened with a one-under-par 71 but finished 13 over for the week and in 47th place.

Spieth is looking to complete the coveted career Grand Slam of golf's four majors this week while McIlroy arrives in fine form having recorded top-five finishes at his last two events, including a runner-up finish at the Masters.

World number one Scottie Scheffler, who won his first major at last month's Masters amid a run during which he won four times in six tournament starts, will play alongside U.S. Open champion Jon Rahm and British Open winner Collin Morikawa.

New Zealand's Ryan Fox, who is playing the PGA Championship for the fourth time, will play alongside American Shawn Warren and Pablo Larrazabal of Spain.

In the absence of injured first-choice dummy half Wayde Egan (calf), Tevaga has again been named to start at hooker in a side which features the possible return of second rower Euan Aitken(head knock), centre Jesse Arthars (shoulder) and standoff Chanel Harris-Tavita (groin).

It was at the same ground against the same opponent that the club's last 100-game mark was brought up by former captain Roger Tuivasa-Shecklast April.

26-year-old Tevaga becomes the 23rd club product to go on to 100 appearances after making his debut with the Warriors.

While he reaches100 games this week, long-time teammate Bunty Afoa edges up to 95 appearances against the Dragons, leaving him on track to play his 100th in the emotional Mount Smart Stadium homecoming match against Wests Tigers on July 3.

Nadal to head to Roland Garros

Rafa Nadal has moved to ease concerns about his injury problems ahead of the French Open, posting a picture of himself training in full flow at his academy in Mallorca with the caption: "See you on Wednesday, Paris."

The 13-time Roland Garros champion had said last week that daily training was a challenge and he would take a doctor with him to Paris after a chronic foot injury flared up during his defeat by Denis Shapovalov at the Italian Open.

Nadal, 35, who only recently returned from a stress fracture in the ribs, struggled towards the end of his match against the Canadian as he went down 1-6 7-5 6-2 in the last-16.

But the world number five looks poised to launch another bid for a Grand Slam title at his favourite hunting ground, having won his 21st major at the Australian Open earlier this year.

That victory followed a difficult 2021 during which he missed Wimbledon, the Tokyo Olympics and the U.S. Open.

Nadal will be attempting to reclaim the title in Paris after he suffered a semi-final defeat last year against Novak Djokovic, only his third career loss at Roland Garros.

Meanwhile Russia's Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova has decided to skip the rest of the season to recover from an injury that has limited her playing time this year, the 2021 French Open runner-up said.

Pavlyuchenkova, ranked 21 in the world, was out for 11 weeks earlier this year to undergo rehab for the knee injury.

The Intermarche-Wanty-Gobert rider recovered from nearly missing a left turn with just over 6 km to go and fended off Mathieu van der Poel at the end of the 196-km ride from the coastal town of Pescara to Jesi.

Girmay, who finished second in the opening stage, was led out by team mate Domenico Pozzovivo in the final stretch.

"I started the Giro with the desire to win a stage. Everyone from the team pulled for me today, even the (general classification) riders, Domenico Pozzovivo was amazing at the end," Girmay said after the race.

Spaniard Juan Pedro Lopez retained his 12-second lead to hold on to the overall leader's "maglia rosa" pink jersey.

Wednesday's 11th stage is a flat route spanning 203 km from Santarcangelo di Romagna to Reggio Emilia.

Cricketer banned after taking dad's medicine

South Africa test batsman Zubayr Hamza has been suspended for nine months after accidentally taking his father's heart medication that contained the banned substance Furosemide, ruling him out of the tour of England later this year.

Hamza, who has played six tests and a single One-Day International for South Africa, had intended to take his own anti-allergy medication, but ingested the wrong pill according to his submission to the ICC's Integrity Unit.

The International Cricket Council has accepted his explanation and reduced his suspension from the usual two years to nine months, back-dated to March 22 this year.

The 26-year-old Hamza will therefore be eligible to resume his career in December this year. He would have been in contention to tour England in August and September having been a mainstay of recent test squads.
