One person has died following a single-vehicle crash in Canterbury.

Emergency services were alerted to the crash on Lehmans Road, Fernside, Waimakariri at 4.15pm.
Police said one person died at the scene.
St John said another was helicoptered to hospital with critical injuries.
Faye Brock was at work at a nearby camping ground when the crash happened and said the car caught fire soon after the collision.
"I just heard the sirens and two police cars went past very very quickly ... and I looked out and saw the smoke coming up from down near the corner but some people at the caravan said they heard a bang just before the smoke."
