A woman has been charged with murder following the death of a 2-year-old girl in Hamilton earlier this year.
Police said an 18-year-old woman will appear in the Hamilton District Court this afternoon.
On 9 April, a patrol car was flagged down on a Hamilton street by occupants of a vehicle who asked for assistance with an unresponsive child.
The girl was taken to hospital, however, she died that evening.
Police said in a statement there was an extensive investigation into the child's tragic death.
