Stats NZ tackling disinformation ahead of next year's census

Stats NZ is working on a "national trust and confidence marketing campaign, ahead of next year's census, focusing on myth-busting and managing disinformation.

In briefings to ministers, Stats NZ warns that anti-government sentiment among parts of the community might have an impact on census results and identifies 'fake websites' among the key risks. 

Simon Mason, Deputy Government Statistician and Deputy Chief Executive Census and Collection Operations, spoke to Māni Dunlop.
