Unions in French Polynesia say they have decided to defer this week's second general strike against planned pension reform until next month.

The government's plan is to raise the retirement age next year from 60 to 62 and to hike contributions.
The unions said their strike notice was being withdrawn and will be refiled next week to strike on 6 March.
This follows the government's decision to debate the reform not this week but on 8 March.
Last week, an estimated 2500 people joined a rally outside the territorial assembly as part of the first general strike.
The president Edouard Fritch said the reform is needed to avert a catastrophe.
