Body recovered from inlet near Nelson

The police dive squad have recovered a body from the water at the mouth of the Waimea River Inlet near Nelson earlier today.

The body was found about midday very close to where the man, who was fishing, was last seen yesterday afternoon.

The police, search and rescue volunteers and the coastguard have been searching for the man.

The body has yet to be formally identified and the case will be referred to the coroner.
