Two Waikato schools are dealing with Covid-19 outbreaks.
Hamilton Christian School is telling Year 7 staff and students who were at school on Thursday to get tested immediately and isolate, after a student tested positive for the virus.
Household members of the students are considered secondary contacts and must also isolate until the close contact returns a negative day five test on Tuesday.
And a positive Covid-19 case has also been detected at Rototuna Junior High in northern Hamilton.
The case was infectious at school last Tuesday and Wednesday.
The school has informed all close contacts, which are at the junior high only, and said it was planning on running programmes this week "as close to normal as possible".
