Taranaki police are asking Opunake farmers to check their properties for any signs of Aaron Roigard, who has been missing for a week.
Police said despite extensive searches of two farms on Saturday, using a specialist team from Wellington, nothing had been found.
A search of the coastline and roads had also failed to turn up anything.
Police said they would like to talk to the driver of a Holden Commodore seen on the Waiteika Road at about the time Mr Roigard disappeared.
They are also asking farmers in the Opunake area to check their implement sheds or buildings in case Mr Roigard had sought shelter from the weather.
