A 19-year-old man has appeared in court in Northland on a murder charge, following a homicide in Palmerston North earlier this year.
The accused - granted interim name suppression - appeared in the Whangārei District Court on Wednesday, charged with murdering Damon O'Rourke on 20 January.
He was arrested in Ruakākā two months after O'Rourke's death.
Court documents allege another person was involved, whose identity was unknown.
His next court appearance is scheduled in the Palmerston North District Court on 12 April.
O'Rourke, 35, suffered gunshot injuries at a property on Coromandel Court, in the suburb of Roslyn, about 7.30pm.
He was taken to hospital, but died a short time later.
