Two youths have been arrested in Blenheim in relation to the burglary of a commercial premises.
Detective sergeant Lindsay Tilbury said police were notified of the incident on Charles Street just after 9.30pm on Wednesday.
The youths were found a short time after the incident by a dog patrol unit after allegedly fleeing in a stolen vehicle.
The pair have allegedly been involved in the theft of several vehicles in the Marlborough area over the past month - including two vehicles in the past 24 hours.
They have been referred to Youth Services and inquiries are ongoing.
Last week, five youths were arrested in Springlands, Blenheim, after a spate of vehicle thefts in Nelson and Blenheim over two days.
The arrests were made after one of the stolen vehicles was abandoned and members of the public provided information to police.
Police urged the public to call them on 111 immediately if they believed someone was breaking into their vehicle.
