Latest - Two-time World Cup-winning All Black Dan Carter has raised more than half a million dollars with last month's kickathon at Eden Park.

Matching the number of test points he scored for New Zealand, Carter successfully reached his target of 1598 goal kicks in a 24-hour period.

Public donations flowed in throughout, with Carter confirming on Tuesday the kickathon had raised a total of $506,959.

The money was going towards a Unicef Aotearoa New Zealand initiative which helped provide water, sanitation and hygiene to children in Kiribati, the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.

Carter said he was "blown away" by the support the Kickathon had received.

"It's fair to say I loved pushing my mind and body to its limits throughout the 24 hours, but I always knew this event was much bigger than me.

"The impact that the donations will have on so many children's lives was the one thing that kept pushing me through the pain barrier.

"This is just the start for the DC10 Fund as I aspire to enhance the lives of children so they can fulfill their dreams just like I was able to as a kid."

The programme, together with partner governments in participating countries, would continue to provide communities with improved and equitable access to clean, sustainable drinking water and sanitation.

In his role as a Unicef Aotearoa New Zealand ambassador, Carter was set to travel to the Pacific later this year to support the roll-out of DC10 funding and understand the impact Kickathon donations had made in local schools and communities.

Everton fans invaded the pitch following Dominic Calvert-Lewin's 85th-minute winner and at the final whistle of their 3-2 victory over Palace which secured their Premier League survival.

Vieira was confronted by a fan as he was walking towards the away dressing room after the final whistle. The fan appeared to provoke Vieira, who then kicked him to the ground and had to be led away by other supporters.

Following Palace's 1-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday, Vieira said football players, coaches and staff need to be safe at stadiums.

The FA said it is investigating incidents of fans invading the field.

Aston Villa goalkeeper Robin Olsen was attacked as Manchester City fans celebrated their Premier League title win by invading the pitch yesterday.

A Nottingham Forest fan who head-butted Sheffield United captain Billy Sharp during a pitch invasion was jailed for 24 weeks and handed a 10-year football banning order.

NFL set to make a decision on Watson

The NFL is expected to decide whether to suspend Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson before the season begins, though there's a small chance the issue could drag into 2023.

The NFL has talked with at least half of the 22 women who filed civil suits against Watson last spring, contending he committed sexual improprieties with them during the course of massages.

Watson was questioned last week by two NFL investigators.

Work on the civil cases is expected to be put on hold on July 1 until after the 2022 season. At that point, the NFL could make a decision on a potential suspension or wait until before the 2023 season.

Two grand juries in Texas declined to indict Watson in any of the cases, and he maintains he did nothing wrong.

But in a pre-trial deposition recently, Watson admitted at least one massage therapist left their session in tears and he sent her an apology, according to attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents the women.

Cleveland surrendered significant draft capital that included three first-round picks to acquire Watson in a trade with the Houston Texans on March 18. Cleveland then signed him to a five-year, $356 million fully guaranteed contract.
