Police have arrested and charged three women with kidnapping and assault after an incident in Napier last week.
On 11 September, police received a report of a kidnapping and serious assault involving a group of people, Detective Senior Sergeant James Keene said.
Videos circulating on social media in relation to the incident have been classified as objectionable material, and anyone who holds or shares a copy of these videos risks being prosecuted.
The women, aged 17, 20 and 24, are due to appear in Napier District Court in late September.
Police said investigations were continuing to identify the people involved in the attack and further charges were likely.
